Product Introduction
M199 medium contains unique components, including adenine, adenosine, hypoxanthine, thymine, and other vitamins, and is currently used for the maintenance of non-transformed cells, the production of vaccines and viruses, and the culture of primary explants in epithelial cells.
Product Application
M199 medium was developed by Morgan, Morton, Parker et al. in 1950 as the first medium with definable nutrient composition. This composite medium was originally designed for the culture of primary chick embryo fibroblasts. In vitro tissue cells can survive in serum-free M199 medium, but serum must be supplemented later to support long-term culture. Serum-supplemented M199 medium can be used to culture cells from a variety of species.
